were couple from Norway and we cant decide which one first.Because my husband want to go to dentist and i want to go to chatuchak weekend market.and we arrived there tuesday.and we want to stay bangkok friday til sunday. Our 18days plan travel are CHANGMAI,BANGKOK,PATTAYA,CHA-AM AND PHUKET.hope guys you can help me...thanks

Another suggestion.

Go to Bangkok at first for a few days, get your dental work out of the way or schedule it for later when you return . If you have any winter gear or stuff you don't want to carry with you many hotels will store that stuff until you return to Bangkok and spend another night with them.

Plan for Chatachak just before you fly home because you need a weekend free for that. You can use the Skytrain to get you around town including to Chatachak.

If you have not booked your flights yet wait until you get to Bangkok, they will be cheaper and you will have more flexibility. From Bangkok you can take the overnight sleeper train up to Chiang Mai and arrive in the morning. This would give you the whole day for shopping and tours. Also, the overnight sleeper train would save you from paying another night in a hotel in Bangkok.

From Chiang Mai fly to Phuket. Then back to Bangkok. If you skip Pattaya and/or Cha Am you will be able to see more than just airports.

Or.

If you want to save money Pattaya will have cheaper hotels than Phuket and Bangkok, also there are dentists there too! Beach is okay for walking, sunbathing, restaurants, street vendors and mall shopping but tourists swim in the hotel pools or go to Jomtien Beach. Bus ride from Bangkok to Pattaya is around 120 baht and takes 2 hours on the VIP bus. (Ekamai bus station is off the Skytrain stop too!)

Spending the last day in Bangkok will give you time for last minute shopping and the dental appointment if you can't get it in the beginning of your trip. This way you will be set up for a quick taxi ride to the airport. If you do any flying out of Bangkok remember that there are 2 airports. Don Muang (on the other side of the city) is also used for local, within Thailand flights. Know where your plane is for local flights.

I agree with Johnny, I think you are trying to do too much in a short time.

Even if you are flying everywhere, its still tight, and Thailand is too beautiful to rush.

Bangkok friday to sunday, thats already four days gone, which leaves you with 14 days.

Personally, I would not go to Pattaya, or Phuket, but thats my choice.

Chiang-Mai is well worth a few days, with plenty to see and do.

Cha-Am is a nice place with a great beach, not much in the way of night life.

If you was to go a little further south of Cha-Am you will find Hua-Hin.

This is a lovely town with good beaches, great choice of accommodation, delicious food outlets, great night life and a good night market, well worth a few days.

You can hire a couple of small motorbikes and have a good look around.

The source below has a lot of good honest information.

Have a great trip.

Bangkok would be the obvious first port of call. I think it makes sense to go there first, spend a few days and then travel out, but I'm only saying that assuming you are flying into Bangkok first.

It seems you are packing a lot into 18 days, and do you really want to visit Pattaya?

You might find the link below of help, it has some example itineraries.

Suggest travel plan from north to south as below:

Changmai > Bangkok > Pattaya > Phuket

With this travel plan, you can save traveling time and money with never miss any of attraction.

Depend on your trip plan .... for example... if you wanna do shopping.. then, Bangkok should be the last destination cuz you the no need to carry all your shopping stuffs along your trip. But if you don't wanna do shopping so much (or not at all) Bangkok could be first, then you can buy some thing for your trip such as swimming suit or else.
