Pattaya Ladies and What to Expect From Them

Pattaya is located on the eastern shore of the Gulf of Thailand approximately 150km from Bangkok and 125km Bangkok’s international airport. Travel time from the airport is one and a half hours. The road is good now that roadworks are nearly completed.

Pattaya was a small fishing village until US serviceman began arriving on R&R breaks from the Vietnam War via the nearby U-Tapao airport. With their arrival the bar scene that is present today began to develop.

Pattaya ladies come in all shapes and personalities. You are sure to find one (every night) to your liking.

Pattaya ladies go either long time (LT) or short time (ST.) This basically refers to the length of time that she goes with you for.

Typically ST is about one or two hours. It is more or less equivalent to what you would get from the working girls at home. In this time you can cum once or twice or maybe more if you are lucky. If you are in a ST bar they will have rooms available for this purpose. If elsewhere you will need to go back to your hotel with her or find a ST room at further expense to you.

Long time is typically over-night. Some ladies may leave as early as 7am (which is not good service) or mid-afternoon. Some are very difficult to get rid of at all!! Early afternoon is about the normal time if the lady you have taken is fair.

Some people like only ST and some only LT but most do both. Many guys will have a ST during the day and then take a LT that night. What you do is up to you.

A variation on the LT is the girl friend experience (GFE.) This is LT taken to the extreme. Where LT ends and GFE starts is open to debate. You’ll know when you are in a GFE when you are with her for 24 hours every day (or near to it) and she has a stash of clothes and other things in your room.

There is nothing wrong with GFE and it has benefits. However it has its dangers as you and/or her may become too attached. If you don’t want this implement the ‘3 day rule.’

Pattaya ladies usually come from a poor rural family with a sense of obligation to provide for their families. They come to Pattaya after hearing stories of ladies coming and making lots of money. They also have heard about how ladies come and meet a rich farang to look after them and their family. Most come with the idea of marrying a nice man to release them from their obligations that are placed on them by their family.

Unfortunately the reality of Pattaya is rather different. Perhaps they meet a man that they think is good. He promises her many great and grand things. He goes home with the promise of coming back to marry her but she never hears from him again. Perhaps she hears and sees similar things from the ladies that she is working with.

The result of this is that many ladies quickly take the view that farang men are theirs to take as much money from as possible. This will suit guys who only go to Pattaya for a couple of weeks. They can just go and have fun and not have to worry too much about attachments. However, this situation is full of traps for those who are unaware of the situation. Don't be one of those guys!

There is no doubt some good ladies in Pattaya but being a newbie don't go there looking for one. The sharks are just waiting for you and they are good at what they do.

As a result of the new airport and continued improvements in infrastructure, more property developers are also entering the market to launch a variety of developments, including residential, international chain hotels and retail projects. Based on the number of property developments currently underway, its a clear indicator that this trend is set to continue.

A Guide to Buying a House in Pattaya

Pattaya is considered to be one of the best places in Thailand to buy a house. Not only is it considered to be an entertainment hub of Thailand but also its real estate market is booming. Foreigners usually have a preference to purchase land and construct a Pattaya house rather than live in condos or move into an existing house that might not suit their preferences. Building or buying a house in Pattaya is comparatively worthwhile and low-priced. There is always a geared up supply of skillful labor.

Most of the foreigners have preferred to buy houses in Pattaya. In contrast to Bangkok, property is readily on hand in Pattaya, giving property hunters prospects for buying reasonably priced individual houses or investing at any housing estate. In 2007 buyers started on taking waiting to buy any real estate property as the new government was formulating its policies. The recent trend moves towards bigger low rise condos as compared to houses and villas. Even though there are ownership issues for foreigners in real estate, city limits of Pattaya are rapidly expanding. This is due to the new Airport and a highway widening program presently in progress linking Bangkok and Pattaya.

Residential houses in Pattaya present the best price in Thailand; they are usually big, comfy, contemporary and endowed with magnificent furnishings and pleasant landscape gardens. Due to the cheaply available material and labor, it's not out of reach to have the benefit of living in houses rather condos.

Houses in Pattaya are numerous, and long stay residents opt for these rather than condos, preferring the tourist-free peace and quiet further out of the CBD. There are plenty of houses for sale, old and new, with the current trend being ‘gated communities'. These appeal to the Thai middle class in particular and present a nice modern ready-made suburb.

Property agents can show you ample of houses in Pattaya for sale. Also checking around for ‘For Sale' signs in residential suburbs is equally valuable and eliminates the agent fee. You'll notice that there are an abundance of empty houses in Pattaya, many developed prior to the ‘97 financial crash, and although it may be a buyers' market (the condo boom in the city hasn't entirely extended to houses), often the owners will hold out for an unrealistic speculative price.

The major obstacle to foreigners buying a house in Pattaya is the possession status, and in view of the fact that only Thai citizens can acquire land in Thailand, simply those with Thai spouses can purchase land. Still after that they don't completely have rights and have to depend on faith. Additionally still, you can make a pact where you rent the land and own the house for the period of its term.

It's prudent to consult a lawyer and carry out due diligence. Many houses on the real estate market in Pattaya are owned as investments by Bangkok residents and the truthfulness in selling a covert defect-free house is missing.
In general, houses in Pattaya provide much better worth than condos and even provide more advantages of living in a cheap tropical country.

17 Ways to Find Your Love in Pattaya, Thailand

I wrote about 50 ways to find love in Pattaya. The only problem I had was that at the moment I could only squeeze 33 ways out of my tired old brain. So, I started to think of all these other ways that you could find your love in Pattaya. So, here are some more ways to find your love in Pattaya.

1. Polo. Yes, sports fans the international jet set fly themselves and their steeds from around the world to compete in a friendly game of Polo. Some people can afford to ride polo ponies and some people can afford to ride bare back.

2. Remote controlled cars. This is new to Pattaya and looks like a lot of fun. There is an outdoors miniature track for remote controlled cars. So, start your engines and let the fun begin.

3. Remote controlled boats. Can you imagine someone setting on their boat off shore in Pattaya bay and a boat 2 to 3 feet long passes them? I can imagine them thowing their bottle of beer overboard and rubbing their eyes in disbelief. You can buy small remote controlled boats for fun and pleasure.

4. Bread. My love is bread. I love hot, fresh bread with butter. I love all kinds of bread. La Boulange the French Bakery holds the key to my heart.

5. Thai Cuisine. My wife and 27 million Thai people love dining at Baan Chaiyapruek. People travel from Bangkok to dine at her restaurant because she is an internationally known chef and carries credentials from the King. She also has a cooking show on TV.

6. French fine dining. Ok, Ok, So, Im not French but I lived there when I was a child and I became used to fine dining. I love fondue and it is available at Ma Maison and Au Bon Coin.

7. Spanish food. I have not had the pleasure to taste the food yet, but I keep hearing about Cafe Ole. The ad in this paper offers a set menu for 160 Baht. I think Im being seduced.

8. Steaks, BBQ Baby ribs. I love nibbling on ribs. Dont you? See the ad in this paper under Cafe New Orleans. Ps. Pecan pie.

9. Italian food. I love Duilios. Their main menu is hard to beat and you will not believe how many varieties of pizzas they have to offer. I have also been seduced by the food at Simpatia Italian. Style, charm and grace.

10. Dutch Food. Yes, there is a Dutch restaurant in Pattaya. It is at Pattaya Bazaar and it is called Eves Coffee Planet. You got to try this. You will be seduced and food is unique.

11. Indian Food. I love the romance at Alibaba. My wife is so easily seduced by the atmosphere, the music, the food and wine. Its great for me.

12. Swiss Food. The Swiss chef is equal to the French chef and two restaurants that my wife and I have tried and really, really liked are Restaurant Belge and the Rotisserie. Live a little and treat yourself to fine dining. Its so romantic.

13. Great French food that anybody can afford. There is only one little French restaurant that is very high quality food and very low prices and that is yours at Le Cap Breton.

14. Big Room Entertainment. For big room fun, excitement and entertainment with a thousand people and most of them are young and beautiful women you got to experience Tonys. There are 700 beautiful women in the complex every night. My wife likes to go there at mid-night when things begin to heat up and the party gets really started and everything starts to climax. Oh! Ya! Ya! Ya! Only, in Pattaya ya ya ya.

15. Shopping. My wife and I lust for shopping. We window shop. We deserve a try-on. Did you know that you could get a face-lift in Pattaya by the best Doctors in the world and at Thai prices too? Did you know that you can afford to have costom made clothes and shoes make in Pattaya? Join the crowd and go shopping.

16. Bars. I had to give up drinking or die but I still like to go to bars and Go Go clubs in Pattaya with my wife because they are good clean fun and entertainment. Maybe, just maybe, you can find love in a Pattaya bar. Sure. Right. Maybe not. Whos looking anyway?

17. Penthouse hotel and the Kitten club. I saved the best for last. I cant write enough about this hotel or club because there is just too much to write about. This hotel and club has only the best in everything. They have thought of everything.

I stayed there for 3 weeks in May 2001 and it changed my life for the better. Wow! What a great time I had at the Penthouse hotel. The food, the decor, the service, the Jacuzzi, the rooms, the grace and style are simply the best. And the prices are very reasonable too. And now sometime this week or next, they are going to open and underground swimming pool/bar with all kinds of swings and trapeze. I got a peek of the construction and you wont believe your eyes. There is nothing like this swimming pool/bar anywhere in the world. Go see it for yourself. Bring a friend.

Also, penthousehotel of course. Simply the best. There will be a feature article when the swimming pool/bar has its grand opening.

There are so many ways to find your love in Pattaya. Read The Best in Pattaya section in this paper and the other ads in this paper for a few more ways to find you love in Pattaya.

Things to Do in Pattaya, Thailand

Inside a secluded, lush estate located on the edge of Pattaya, an eccentric Englishman's gardener is found hanged. Calvino has been hired to investigate. Calvino finds himself pulled deep in the shadows of the war against drugs, into an empire of a local warlord with the trail leading to a terrorist who has caused Code Orange alerts to flash across the screen of American intelligence. In a story packed with twists and turns, Calvino traces the links from the gardener's past to the door of men with power and influence who have everything to lose if the mystery of the gardener's death is solved.

Visitors to Pattaya in Thailand often think immediately of the beach (and well they should with so much going on there) or the nightlife (with its infamous reputation), but don’t overlook the following when spending time in this great city:

Water Sports
The number of water sports available in Pattaya is mind-boggling. Try your hand at sailing, wind-surfing, jet skiing, para-sailing, kayaking or banana-boating. Plus, if you feel like it, mix a boat ride to the outlying islands with some fishing or snorkeling.

Eating out
All along both Jomtien and Pattaya beaches you will find some great restaurants offering a mixture of Thai and Western cuisine. Make sure you try the seafood and look for the restaurants that Thais are eating at, as they will be the ones with the freshest ingredients!

Amusement parks
In and around Pattaya, there are a couple of parks that should form part of any visit, especially for families with children. Underwater World boasts a fantastic aquarium with many activities for visitors. For something a little more adventurous, try Funnyland Amusement Park, with its carnival rides. Alternatively, Pattaya Water Park offers similar fun, of a watery kind.

Shopping
Pattaya has a number of modern shopping centres, together with a couple of great factory outlet malls offering brand names at fantastic prices. Just make sure you have enough space in your suitcases. Remember too that tourists can claim back on the VAT.

Museums with a twist
Nearby, Mini Siam offers a glimpse into Thailand’s past, with mini being the operative word, since everything this reconstruction boasts scaled down miniatures of historic buildings. Otherwise, check out Ripley’s Believe It or Not for a museum visit with a difference.

Other Sports
Pattaya has some gorgeous golf courses (no need to bring your own gear if you are struggling with luggage already), as well as a number of great go-karting courses. You can also try out paintball or laser tag.

Wildlife Parks
If you are more interested in seeing some of Thailand’s more exotic wildlife, there are a number of parks that offer a taste of nature. Sriracha Tiger Zoo offers a close (very close) look at these magnificent wild cats. The Million Years Stone Park and Pattaya Crocodile Farm mixes plant and animal life in its beautiful grounds. Alternatively, visit Nong Nooch Tropical Garden for a glimpse into Thailand’s amazing flora. And of course no visit to Thailand is complete without experiencing the elephants who have their own Elephant Village in Pattaya.

With all of the above (and more) on offer, it is easy to spend 2 weeks in Pattaya and still not see it all.

Endless Happiness at Pattaya Beach Hotels

Pattaya by Night for the next generation traveler. Dining, clubbing & dancing, cabarets and tunes, Thai boxing bouts, best after-dark denizens and beach bars, with night markets, shopping zones and breakfast spots! 3 maps.

Pattaya Beach is really popular with tourists, not only with Thai travelers, but also with people from all over the world. Pattaya has gained its reputation from the beauty of its beaches as well as the variety of beach activities that are on offer. However, there are differences in terms of the style of travel of foreign travelers from different regions. Firstly, we have to understand the nature and characteristics of the travelers. I have been a tourist guide for almost ten years, working in Pattaya and many other parts of the country. The differences in the behavior of tourists sometimes depends upon the region that they come from. For example, travelers from the USA and Europe are likely to prefer a relaxing trip rather than a sightseeing trip or taking part in many kinds of activities. Tourist behavior also seems to depend upon the climate of the region that they come from, with tourists that come from regions that have long winters tending to relax in countries that are in a tropical zone like Indonesia (Bali), Thailand and other such countries. Meanwhile tourists from the Asian countries seem to enjoy activities other than lying on the beach and sunbathing. The number of tourists from western countries who visit the city of Pattaya is around one million per year, and in response to this the hotels and resorts in Pattaya have to provide excellent service and facilities to attract Western customers and to survive in this very competitive market. A beach hotel is a hotel that is located close to the beach, or one that has its own private beach available for guests. It is a top priority for foreign travelers to find hotel accommodation that has a private beach for them to relax on. Fortunately, there are quite a number of luxurious five star hotels in Pattaya which have private beaches to ensure that guests have an enjoyable holiday. In general, these hotels have online booking systems of their own, as well as having deals with travel agents or online hotel booking websites. Travelers who have to plan their trip in advance may have to book their accommodation through a local travel agent or make hotel reservations through websites. The fact is that it is really important for them to make sure in advance of the accommodation and facilities that they will be coming to. If they want to book a hotel where they can relax on a cozy, private beach, they will most likely need to see a picture of the accommodation and the beach that is owned by the hotel. This is because sometimes there is a misunderstanding about the location and condition of the hotel. It is sometimes the case that the online booking system does not provide a complete view of the hotel, especially so in the case of the small hotel booking websites which usually provide only basic pictures of the accommodation which are sometimes out of date. Therefore, you as a traveler may have to visit the hotel official websites to see the complete pictures of the hotel before you decide to make a reservation. Also, if possible you may have to call the hotel to check the room availability, especially if you plan to go during high season, which is about December to April.

Travel Guide Of Pattaya

Pattaya (sometime spelled "Pataya" or "Phattaya")

Pattaya lies around 150km to the southeast of Bangkok, Thailand. This is Less than 2 hours by road, and stretches for some 15km along the Eastern Seaboard. Thailand 's Largest resort, it shares the coast with traditional a fishing villages, other resorts such as Bang Saen and Rayong, new industrial centers, the town of Chonburi and Sriracha, and the port and naval base of Sattahip.

Pattaya in the past was just a little fishing village. Until 1960s, American servicemen form the U.S. Air Force base at Utapao in neighbouring Rayong Province began using the area for "Rest and Recreation" (R&R) , causing a huge boom in entertainment business. When the Americans left following the end of the Vietnam War, the city fell into a crisis. However, modern mass tourism brought a new life to Pattaya. The city is considered heaven or hell on the Earth, depending on how you look at it.

More than 35,000 hotels' rooms were available in Pattaya. It is an eapecially popular vacation destination for families from Russia, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and other countries. It also a large international expatriate population and many services meet international standards In recent years, new shopping malls, outlet stores and jewelry stores have sprung up like mushrooms, which have helped in increasing the length of stay of visitors to the city.

Pattaya's main attractions are its beaches. Pattaya Beach stretches out along the central city close to shopping, hotels and bars. The section of beach from Central Road (Pattaya Klang) south to the harbor is adjacent to the core of Pattaya's abundant nightlife area, hence it is less family-oriented than the North Pattaya, Na Klua and Jomtien beaches.

Pattaya is now a city in its own right, with its own mayor and its own administration. This is not all due to tourism. The government development programmed for the Eastern Seaboard has transformed the region, and this rapid industrial and commercial expansion has led to many expatriates coming to live in the area. There is a new deep-sea port at Laem Chabang, 20 km north of Pattaya with a vast industrial estate, and another development zone at Map Ta Phut near Rayong to the south. Pattaya city is well located to be a major business centre serving these two giant industrial communities. There are five international schools and four international hospital in the area.

However Pattaya has multi-cultural quintessentially Thai visitors, and although the convenience foods of the West are readily accessible, the Thai culture is everywhere and most visitors embrace the easy-going way of life readily. Over 95 per cent of people who live and work here are Thai and even a couple of blocks away from the beach the culture takes over from the holiday atmosphere by the sea and the beach. Despite this, the ex-pat community here is a perhaps the least assimilated of all the foreign communities in Thailand, and you're more likely to feel like you're in Tenerife than Thailand, with all the footage on TV, English style pubs and nary a word of Thai spoken in the many bars that service the full-time early retirees who favor this atmosphere.

The Past

Pattaya's name was originated from the march of Phraya Tak (later known as King Taksin the Great) and his followers from Ayutthaya to Chanthaburi just before the fall of the Ayutthaya Kingdom to the Burmese invaders in 1767.

When Phraya Tak's army arrived in the vicinity of what is Pattaya today, he encountered the troops of Nai Klom who tried to intercept him. When the two leaders met face to face, Nai Klom was awed by Phraya Tak's dignified manner and his army's strict discipline, thereby surrendering without a fight. The place where the two armies confronted each other was later called Thap Phraya, which means the Army of the Phraya. This was later changed to Phatthaya, which happens to mean the wind blowing from the southwest to the northeast at the beginning of the rainy season. Today the spelling of the name has been simplified to Pattaya.

For centuries, Pattaya was a small fishing village almost cut off from the outside world. But a big change occurred on 29 April 1961 when the first group of about 100 American servicemen who would join the Vietnam War arrived in Pattaya for relaxation. Soon, sleepy Pattaya became Thailand's premier and most successful beach resort, which annually attracts hundreds of thousands of pleasure-seeking visitors. A full range of accommodations from super deluxe hotels to bungalows and mini-pocket guesthouses replaced fishermens huts along the beach. Fishing vessels were adapted to become tourist boats and swimmers and sunbathers from various parts of the world frequented the quiet powdery golden beaches. Places of nighttime entertainment have also sprung up and are popular among international tourists.

The Present

Pattaya currently integrates the delights of a 1st class beach resort, city-like dining, shopping and night entertainment facilities with more than 300 assorted hotels, thousands of shops, restaurants and bars. Have you wonder what makes Pattaya city so popular among tourists. You might not have an idea if you never been there, but for some people who have visited this city for quite few times may be able to give very correct answer. What different between hotel and resort accommodation?

In fact in terms of the meaning and usage they are not much different, that is, they refers to the accommodation for tourist for travelers but resort may have additional characteristics of having beautiful garden or open-air public are available for guests to be able to enjoy with natural environment.

But for normal hotel accommodation, this could means the building of the hotel in the city area were has no garden or green space available for its guest or provide just a little one. Also resort accommodation could refers to the accommodation that located in mountain or woods where tourists or travelers can fully enjoy the environment. According to this reason travelers tend to prefer to look for resort accommodation rather than building hotel. If they are not required to join business trip and have to stay in city central area.

Pattaya is the small lovely city on eastern region of Thailand. It is the small city that well known for tourists of its beautiful beaches and nightlife. Even though it si quite hard for you to find large resort accommodation in Pattaya, but there are some other hotels that have improve its environment to be a resort. One of the good examples is the hotel called Cabbages and Condoms Resort which I have visited last year.

I book this hotel through hotel booking website in very in quite cheap price and the hotel's service is really impressive. For some of you who nay want to stay in city central area but would love to relax on private beach. There are some resort provides this for external guest too.

Booking for hotel in this city is also very easy. It is quite surprised that I can see many of travel agents in my country offering hotel booking service for this city. Even though it is just a small city in small country but the tourism market is very competitive. Therefore, many of hotel booking websites owners try to make a deal with local agents or directly to hotels or resorts to offer competitive prices available to customers.

Living in Pattaya - an expat’s guide

Living in Pattaya
It’s the lifestyle that attracts
It’s the lifestyle that attracts

A thriving, imaginative playground for those travelling with children, a paragon of ultimate clubbing experiences for night owls, and a city of sin for others, Pattaya is many things to many people. Pattaya can also be a relaxing home-away-from-home for expats and those in their retirement. Because everything is so cheap and the smoky-eyed Pattaya girls are so friendly, it is a paradise for those who decide to settle down here.

Only a 1-hour, 30-minute drive from Bangkok, or about 150kms, this exciting oasis provides a cheap and comfortable home for all ‘farangs.’ Pattaya has everything, from lip-smacking, inexpensive food, to vibrant nightlife, top-notch golf courses and a wide range of other spine-tingling indoor and outdoor activities, not to mention a lot of hanky panky business.

If living in Bangkok is paradise, living in Pattaya is seventh heaven. The cost of living isn’t as expensive as in Bangkok or Phuket, with the price of food commonly very low. The most authentic food can be found at local street vendors, which are everywhere in Pattaya.

A plate of famous phad thai noodles with big, yummy shrimps and egg costs less than £1 (about 70 baht), while less than £2 (about 140 baht) can get you a sumptuous plate of chicken fried rice and a big bowl of tom yum kung spicy soup. If you are lucky, you might be able to throw in a watermelon shake with this budget. For more information about sumptuous Thai food,

If your stomach cannot adjust to spicy Thai cuisine, McDonald’s, KFC and Pizza Hut serve the same food as your hometown, but at much lower prices. Pattaya is also home to a dizzying array of authentic Western restaurants. From tangy American prime rib, and creamy and cheesy French onion soup, to English fish and chips delights, you can find everything in this city of food-a-plenty.

Finding a place to stay in Pattaya isn’t exactly a Herculean task. Guesthouses and cheap condominiums have been mushrooming in Pattaya in recent years. There are many studios that start from 5,000 baht per month, but if you are picky and would like something overlooking the water, several apartments in Jomtien are up for grabs for about 10,000 baht per month.

If you are very new to Pattaya, real estate agents can be helpful. However, just like any other places in the world, Pattaya has its fair share of scammers. Ask around for a reliable agency or check out the Pattaya Mail, a local newspaper, for useful tips, news and classifieds.

Shopping in Pattaya proves to be a fun experience. A great number of fresh markets are scattered around the city while there is also a wide range of chain supermarkets and Westernised department stores. Tesco Lotus and Big C are very popular among locals and expats, where you can buy goods at wholesale prices.

Foodland and Tops supermarkets have good quality food and many imported products while Pattaya Outlet is where you can buy both local and brand name clothes at a discount. For an all-in-one department store, nothing beats the newest addition to the shopping scene, Central Pattaya, a big shot store that monopolises the shopping scene in major cities in Thailand.

Pattaya boasts tip-top infrastructure, with good and inexpensive transportation operating throughout the city. If you have the privilege of staying downtown, several places are located within walking distance. However, if you feel the need for a ride (no pun intended), Pattaya has a wide range of transport options such as songthaew taxis or pick up truck taxis which have padded rail seats and go all over Pattaya for less than 20 baht.

Motorbike taxis are also a popular mean of travelling when you are in a hurry. With a skilled biker, you will be able to zip through the traffic and reach your destination within a wink of an eye. Just remember to hold on tight and wear a helmet.

Guide to buying tailored clothes in Pattaya

Thais are known for their excellent craftsmanship, and this extends to tailoring. If you’re looking for a wardrobe full of brand new clothes, then Pattaya has a lot to offer. Tailor-made clothes can be made within 24 hours at extremely competitive prices. Design your own items or select from a brochure, and choose from an extensive range of fabrics.

Prices and quality can vary, and it pays to spend some time looking around. If you have time to spare, try having one item made initially. If you are happy with the result, then go back for more. Walking street is the most famous area for tailors in Pattaya, and contains a number of high quality establishments, though many of them are on the pricey side.

South Pattaya’s Second road and Beach road also contain several decent tailors capable of recreating any style you choose. It is quite common to have a set of three suits, two silk shirts and ties or the equivalent made for around 7,850 baht (£125). As a general rule, the longer you can wait and more money you have to spend, the more superior the results. Insist on having fittings - at least two for the best results. That way you can view the clothes as they are created, and will be able to instruct the tailor regarding exactly how you want the pieces to look.

Though tempting, it is usually best to avoid tailors who offer fantastically low prices, as they can produce shoddy work. If you are willing to spend a decent amount of money, you can get some spectacular clothes, but be prepared to bargain. You do not need to overspend. Have a look in a few places to get an idea of what the going price are before committing. Expect prices for a top quality tailor made suit to start at 4,500 baht (£71), and prices for a slightly lower quality suit to be around 3,000 baht (£47).

When trying clothes on, be sure to pay attention. It is easy to look at yourself in the mirror, declare that the clothes look great from the front, and then hurry out of the shop after paying. Check that the stitching is straight, pinstripes meet where they should, and observe the overall quality of the item. If you are not entirely satisfied with the work, speak up.

Lord’s Tailors on Walking street is one of Pattaya’s oldest tailor shops, dating from 1975, and their work is of a high quality. They are proud of the fact that they make business trips to Europe to personally measure shoppers who do not wish to travel to Thailand. Nini Tailors and Jim’s International on Pattaya Two road also come highly recommended by travellers.
