hi, i am going to be staying in pattaya (jomtein beach) and will get only a day to visit bangkok. can i go to bangkok from jomtein in pattaya in the morning and return by the night? Pl advise the best way to do it!

thnx

Pattaya is a great way to spend nights. I spent 1200 bahts for a taxi to Bangkok from Pattaya. What with nice roads, the taxi could reach you in just one and half hours.

Have a nice trip.

It's very easy to get to Bangkok from Pattaya either by bus or taxi. The bus is much less expensive, about 120 baht or so, I think the best way is to take the bus from Pattaya to the Eastern Bus Terminal in Bangkok (Ekkamai) which is located next to the Skytrain (BTS) right off Sukhumvit Rd. in Bangkok, it's faster and more convenient than the bus that goes to Mo Chit. The bus station in Pattaya is located on North Pattaya Rd. and has buses departing frequently to Bangkok with few or no stops and takes about 2 hours. You can also hire a taxi in either direction for about 1,200 baht or so each way, if you choose to take a taxi be sure to negotiate the fare before you go. It should be no problem to leave in the morning and return at night to Pattaya, just be sure you don't miss the last bus. Have fun.

hi, yes no problem, lots of buses and little mini buses take you straight to victory monument in bkk ( 120 -200 baht )where u can get the BTS to anywhere u need to go. its gets abit hectic getting back as ppl are returning from work.around 5.30pm - 7pm. Have fun.

its easy, take a taxi, or private car, its about 1500 bht and its on 1 1/2 hr so yeah you can hang out all day in bangkok then go back to pattaya for the night , which i think pattaya is better nightlife

Should be no problem, is only about 1 1/2 hours away. I believe there are plenty of tour buses that go between every day. Check on a thai travel website to be sure. Hope this helps.

You can take either the bus or taxi. No sweat it takes about 1 and half to two hours to get here in Bangkok

Taxis from Pattaya to Bangkok are generally cheaper than the reverse trip. You should not need to pay more than Baht 800 (Jomtien-Bangkok). There are booths on virtually every street corner. It may be worth discussing a round-trip fare.

However, I keep seeing people say it's a 90 minute trip. It perhaps should be, but the highway is under a seemingly endless process of repair, and is hogged by trucks of all sizes virtually24x7. I'd allow about 5 hours total to-fro driving time.

(in a taxi, perhaps 6-7 if travelling by bus)
