Travel to Pattaya - Taxi Bangkok Airport to Pattaya?

I am travelling to Pattaya on 29 April. Does anyone want to share taxi cost from BKK airport to Pattaya?

That sounds like a great idea. One problem you don't list the time your arriving in Bangkok. I think that would be helpful, since someone may not want to wait a long period of time for your flight to arrive or you waiting for them. Another recommendation is to ask around on your flight to Bangkok, I am sure a few people on your flight will be heading to Pattaya also.

If you arrive during the day you may be able to take a cheap bus. Bell Travel has a bus that leaves directly from the terminal. At the little airport bus station (need shuttle bus to get there) there are some other buses that go to Pattaya too!

(A time frame would be helpful.)

How long it take to travel by train from singapore to pattaya, thailand?

and how muct the fare for single trip and round trip from s'pore to pattaya in singaporean dollar?

I believe the actual travel time is in excess of 24 hr. NOT counting delays. My friend just waited a few hours at the Thai border from Malaysia when we met in Hat Yai.

I would not recommend that trip. I would suggest the train from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, and then fly to Bangkok on Air Asia. There is a bus directly from the airport to Pattaya which takes 1 1/2 hr or less depending on traffic. That airport bus costs 150 baht. I just checked rates for Air Asia R/t to BKK from KUL and that is 4000 baht, have no idea about the train, but could guess about $30 USD.

Bell Travel operates the bus from BKK to Pattaya, 8am to 6pm from airport. phone 02747 4675 From outside Thailand dial 66 and drop the first zero. A taxi from BKK to Pattaya is about 1500 baht, but go OUTSIDE of the airport doors to the taxi stand. The hawkers in the airport charge more.

The trip will take 2 nights with change from Malayan Rail to Thai Rail. The journey ends at Bangkok and you have to take a bus to Pattaya which is famous due to its proximity to the capital.

Unless you are an avid train traveller, flying is cheaper.

$100...dollar if u may....

but sorry dont have proove though.....

sorry.....

Any first-hand experiences with Bangkok-Pattaya tour packages offered by Travel Chacha/travelGuru /Yatra.com?

I am single traveller planning to take one of these in August.

Can you please kidly share yur experiences, dos donts and such.

Thanks.

I looked at the Bangkok/Pattaya 5 day- 4 night tour on the Yatra website and that's a very good price considering it includes almost everything. It is a very short time, although from India it's not too bad, perhaps you can extend the amount of days and nights if you have the time. I agree with the above answers as far as booking trips yourself, but if the types of day tours Yatra offers appeal to you and you have a limited amount of time, I think the Yatra tour is a good way to go. To do all the things they include and transportation to and from all the locations they go to will consume quite a bit of your time just looking for and booking what they include, and their price is very reasonable. I know nothing about Yatra Tours, perhaps you should post queries about them in the India section of Yahoo Answers since they are an Indian company, but for a single traveler who is coming to Thailand for the first time with a limited amount of time, the price seems very reasonable and will save you a lot of time and trouble trying to arrange all the things they provide. Good luck.

Buddy, suggest not to take up a tour package. Try for the best airfares through these sites. But its going to be easy for you and you can enjoy better if you don't opt for a package.

I was there recently (3/4 months before) - I managed myself.

While you are at the airport, visa is provided on arrival and its hassle free.

Take a cab from the airport to Bangkok city - should cost you about 300 to 400 baht (taxi fares are slightly costly) - there are also bus which plies at certain fixed time.

Stay in Ambassador hotel in Bangkok - its a decent one, which offers you a breakfast.

Spend couple of days in Bangkok and take a round in the city yourself, there are lot of local tour travellers, who take you for a city tour. You can find the details in the hotel.

Then proceed to Pattaya - there are bus service to Pattaya from Bangkok - If you opt for a taxi, it should cost you about 800 Bhat.

There are lot of cheap and good hotel in Soi Honey street. You can book from the net. Again the hotel has local tour packages which takes you in and around pattaya.

Have a good time and enjoy yourself. Also take care and be prepared to bargain everywhere. Beware of thieves in hotels - don't keep any valuable items in your luggage in hotels (ask for a locker in the hotel - most of the hotels provide this option).

Good luck!

Book only your flights from your country to Bangkok. Plan on a few days in Bangkok to see the city and take some tours. In Bangkok you can find tours at travel agencies. Lots of travel agencies in that city and in Pattaya. These travel agencies will have a menu list of local tours. Tour company picks you up at your hotel and returns you there at the end of the tour. For Bangkok choose a hotel that is near the Skytrain so you can use that overhead train service to get around town quick and easy.

For Pattaya you can take a bus from the Ekamai bus station, off a Skytrain stop on Sukhumvit Road, for around 120 baht. Only purchase the bus ticket from the Pattaya ticket window, ask for the VIP bus. Ride will take around 2 hours. Avoid slower "milk run bus" parked near the left side of terminal unless you want a 4 or 5 hour bus ride and no toilet on a cold bus. Or, you can pay around 1000 baht to take a taxi.

In Pattaya you can find hotels very easy or book ahead of time if you want, but walk-ins are possible. August will still be "low season" pricing. Choose a hotel on or near the Pattaya 2nd Road area so you can easily use the 10 baht baht bus transportation or walk to many places.

Change your money after you get to Thailand for the better rate. Thailand uses real banks to change money over and those banks and mini bank money changers are all over.

You don't mention what your hotel budget is like. How much you want to spend for a hotel will narrow down the hotel recommendations you get.

Pattaya has lots of hotels in all price ranges for A/C rooms from 400 baht on up to over 4000 baht.

Good luck.

I am in Thailand for 2 nights and three days. Should I stay in Bangkok or travel down to Pattaya?

I have spent a day in Bangkok before. Are the girls a lot better in Pattaya compared to Bangkok? what is it cost -wise? is the beach nice?

The beach is not nice.

The beach is not why males flock to Pattaya. They gather there because there is an abundance of girls willing to please them for a fee.

The fee is lower in Pattaya than in Bangkok and it is also easier to find cheap accommodation.

I cannot comment on the girls(!) but have been to both Bangkok and Pattaya. I enjoyed Bangkok a lot more. Pattaya is a sleazy cesspool, the beach is awful and so are all the hotels I know.

For that short period, if I were you I would stay in Bangkok.

Best if you just travel home.

As the new Airport is about 40 to 50 Minutes away from BKK, you might as well hit of to Pattaya(same distance) When you get into BKK, just check outside, some of the Girls are escorting their Ex B/F back to the Airport and be more then happy to give you are ride back to Pattaya, Money wise, same old same, you get what you pay for!

Have Fun

For that short stay I would stay in Bangkok, when I come from or go to Phuket I always stay in the Landmark hotel not more then a day or to. The nightlife is great and the landmark is in the middle of it ... Always fun but after a few days Bangkok can be boresome.... check the link for the right hotel

cost wise? i use it depends on the product, new or used, or over used. also sometime some nationalities pay more then others. it''s just a fact of life.

Taking a trip to Pattaya where to stay what to do how to travel?

I am going to Pattaya and i am possible going alone i want to stay on the beach and close to walking street. I am looking for a hotel room around 150 US a night. I also and wanting to know about transportation from the airport with the entertainment waiting in the vehicle when i arrive? Also just want to know what to do during the day? I am going in September 1st time frame.

With a hotel room about 150 US a night, you should be able to rent the whole hotel. You an get nice resorts for US$ 50 at the max. I think the Diamond Hotel has transportation--if not Diamond one of those sleaze bag hotel/bars offer it. The best thing you can do during the day is sleep off the hangover. There are lots of activities starting with the beach, sports, shopping, tours.

first off- $150 USD is waaaaaay too much!

You can find a ton of great places for about $50 USD/night. Check the usual travel websites for good places near the beach (on Beach Road). What I'd suggest is finding out if your hotel of choice is "guest friendly" - that is some hotels in Pattaya charge as much as 1500 baht for you to bring a "guest" into your hotel room overnight. This can really add up over time. Guest Friendly hotels will not charge if you should bring a "friend" back to your room for an overnight visit.

Transportation to Pattaya from the airport can be arranged from several car services. Check the Pattaya forums for more info- I know of one (Mr. Toom's limo service) that has good service at reasonable prices. Ahemm- is there REALLY a need for in-car entertainment? I mean- there's going to be 100s of women waiting for you once you get to Pattaya. What's the rush...? Besides- what if an ugly one shows up in the car!

During the day, Pattaya offers several touristy things to see/do:

-Mini Siam. Small scaled down landmarks from across the world.

-Sanctuary of Truth. Magnificent teak wood temple.

-Noong Nooch Gardens. scenic and relaxing.

You can also take a ferry boat to nearby Koh Larn for a day trip. Girls really love this place...

Since your trip isn't until September, I'd suggest joining the various Pattaya travel forums.

Only the most expensive hotel in that area charges 150 USD per night. Which is Pattaya Marriott Resort & Spa:

http://www.pattayahotels.com/Hotel-info/Pattaya-Marriott-Resort-&-Spa.htm

But there are quite a few other hotels in the same area that charge a lot less. And most of them are pretty good too.

http://www.pattayahotels.com/South-&-Walkingstreet.htm

And you can book your limousine online at this website:

http://www.suvarnabhumiairport.com/NBIA.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=NBIA_page_OnlineLimousineBooking

You just have to select 'OTHERS' for your destination. Because Pattaya is not listed. But I'm sure the limo can take you there.

First of all, you dont need to pay 150 USD /nite There are many excellent hotels for 40-60USD, some from 25USD. Some hotels will have their own minibus for pick-up and drop-off at the airport- check.

Some nice beaches, lots of watersports, golfing and tours. Lots of hot and wild nite life.

Best way to travel from Bangkok to Pattaya?

I ll be in holiday in Bangkok for 4 days. Im interested in visiting pattaya for one day.

Whats the cheapest way to travel there(from Bangkok) and how long will the journey take?

and is it a good plan to go to Pattaya early in the morning and come back in the evening.

Best way is taxi. Price is negotiable, but ranges from 1,200 to 1,500 baht one way. Flag down a metered taxi instead of going to the 'limo services' in Sukhumvit Soi 5.

Taking a bus from Ekamai Bus Station will cost you less than 200 baht.

It takes me less than two hours to get from Bangkok to Rayong, but in taxi, Pattaya is probably almost two hours drive from Bangkok (more if by bus). So it doesn't make sense to go for a day and nobody goes to Pattaya for the beach life. If you want to go, go for the night life, i.e., return in morning rather than coming back in the evening.
