Pattaya Beach Guide

North Pattaya

Marked with beginning of the area with the Dolphin Roundabout, North Pattaya and Na Klua Bay offer a quieter atmosphere in contrast with the bustling beach road. This is where you can find classy restaurants, upmarket hotels and and resorts facing out to the beach.

Central Pattaya

The half-moon-shaped Pattaya Beach is 3 kilometers long with a road running parallel to the beach. There is a vast array of restaurants, bar-beers or open-air bars, department stores, souvenir stores, as well as other places of entertainment like go-go bars.

South Pattaya

After dark, the extension of Beach road in South Pattaya turns into a promenade (disallowed only for public transport), transformed into one of the hottest nightspot. A hunting ground beaming with neon lights and music, where fellow holiday-makers youths & aged alike, find an endless array of dining, shopping or entertainment establishments.

Jomtien

The former paddy fields have turned into a thriving beach. Only 3 km. down Pattaya Beach, Jomtien is highly recommended to those who seek a quieter resort. The 6-kilometer long, largely straight beach is popular with windsurfers and watersports enthusiasts. It is also quieter and more relaxing than Pattaya Beach. Hotels and other accommodation facilities are available along the road that runs parallel to the shore. The beach here is cleaner than those on Pattaya Bay.

Naklua

Naklua is much smaller than its neighbours and it does not suffer from the mass development Pattaya Beach has experienced. Like Jomtien it is more family friendly. The Pattaya municipality spent 1.8 million Baht on cleaning up the waters around Pattaya, and in Nakula it is now possible to see fish in the water. This makes bathing in the sea a genuine pleasure. Nakula is also a centre for windsurfers and windsurfing equipment can be hired from the beach.

Bangsaen

Bangsaen Beach is a famous beach for the local people and Bangkok's Expatriate Community. Approximately 13 kilometres from the city of Chonburi, it branches off to the right-hand side from Sukhumvit Highway, at kilometres 104, for a distance of 3 kilometres. Stretching along the beachfront, is a 2.5 kilometre Road. Along the beach, one finds vendors offering drinks and seafood snacks such as squid, mussels and spicy steamed-fish-cakes for sale. One can rent deck chairs and rubber rings for swimming. Fresh water bathing facilities are also available. There are many delicious seafood restaurants which are in line with the beach have recently been improved in an organised manner to make it more pleasant to enjoy food.
